Private Placement
Collins Home cares for children when their families are going through a season of difficulty – without court involvement and regardless of their ability to pay. This allows families to retain custody and stay in contact with their children, with the expectation that the family will be reunited when the difficulty is resolved.
This pre-DSS intervention means you, the parent or guardian, continues to be the primary decision-maker.
Examples of private placements include:
Grandparents who have custody of their grandchildren, but are unable to care for them due to declining health, financial instability or other problems.
A single parent caring for kids with no home, job, etc.
An addicted parent going into rehab
Who We Assist
We accept children experiencing any type of abuse, neglect, or who are unable to live with their families:
Disrupted adoptions
Relatives unable to provide for the child’s daily needs due to financial, health or other reasons
Children who have behavioral challenges that may result from trauma or other experiences
Children may remain in our program until they are 21 years old and achieve independence
It’s never easy to place a child. Start the conversation by completing and submitting this form. Please note: We will contact you to discuss your situation; however, submitting the form does not guarantee placement.
