Sowing New Traditions

By the time you read this Thanksgiving will be in the rear-view mirror and it will be all-gas-no-breaks (pardon the pun) until we celebrate Christmas. This time of year can be stressful and full of chaos if we allow it to be. This year, I encourage you to take a different approach to Christmas and who knows, you may create a new tradition along the way!

At Collins Home Family Ministries we provide compassionate care to families and children facing hardship. Hardship can take many forms, from temporary homelessness or poor decision making to divorce, financial difficulties, job loss and more. Serving these children and families in our community is our passion and our purpose. The work we do is full of opportunities disguised as obstacles and without you, we could not be able to point our families to the hope we find in Jesus.

When you come alongside Collins Home Family Ministries, you stand with a single mom who was evicted from her apartment, a single dad or maybe an aunt who is suddenly unemployed, or a child who has aged out of foster care. Your gift provides immediate relief that can lead to long-term stability. Your gift provides shelter, strength, and stability!

So, as for that new tradition, would you consider adding Collins Home Family Ministries to your Christmas shopping list? We have many needs that you can help us meet by purchasing gift cards, shopping from our Amazon wish list, becoming a monthly financial partner or by contributing stock or property.

When Jesus was born angels sang in the night sky, a star marked His location, shepherds worshipped, and wise men brought gifts. They all did their part in celebrating the arrival of King Jesus. I imagine it was something they talked about for many decades afterwards. Why? It’s simple: a gift is like a seed, nurturing the recipient, the giver, and future generations with its potential to grow and flourish.
