Strength in Unity
Now that the holidays are over, it's time to consider the possibilities ahead. On January 1, 2025, Collins Children's Home joined forces with SHINE for Your Future, another local non-profit, to become Collins Family Ministries. As two separate organizations, we worked hard to serve families, children, and at-risk youth. The great news is we are stronger together, and with YOU in our corner, we will accomplish more than we ever dreamed possible.
Together, Collins Family Ministries is now the home of Collins Children's Home and SHINE for Your Future, and we are looking to make a significant and immediate impact on the lives of children, families, and at-risk youth in our community. And while we are stronger together, we cannot accomplish our mission without generosity and support from our community. As Helen Keller said, “Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.”
Connecting with Collins Family Ministries has never been easier. You can call us at 864.882.0893 to set up a time to tour our campus or visit our website and check out the Connect page. From there, you’ll find ways to provide a meal for our campus residents, volunteer in the office or as a tutor, and much more. Visit our Churches page to sign up for a week of guided prayer for Collins. We provide the prayer prompts, your church or small group provides the daily prayer. Your love and support are greatly appreciated!
In 2024, we provided on-campus residential care for 21 children, served 15 at-risk young adults through life coaching, and assisted a total 187 from across South Carolina. Our volunteers served over 2600 hours and provided tutoring, mentorship, and accountability. As a result, our students had an average grade of 89, and our young adults attended life skills workshops.
While good grades and life skills are essential, the most valuable gift we can give anyone is the hope of Jesus, who has the power to save and leads us into meaningful life change. In 2024, six of our program participants chose to follow Jesus for the first time, taking their next steps in faith. My favorite moment was watching one of our residential children experience baptism. Serving those in need is an undeserved privilege, and the need for our support is growing. Unite with us as we provide shelter to children, strength to at-risk youth and families, and stability to our community!
